Pauper League Rules
Season 4 Rules (October 2025 - January 2026)
Points
- Players win 3 league points per match win and 1 point per tie.
-
The best score per week across all events is used for a player's league points.
Example: Darval goes 1-2, 2-1, and 1-1-1 during a week. They receive 6 points.
-
Once a month, if a player attended qualifying events at two different stores, they receive 1 additional league point.
- If a player attended qualifying events at three different stores, they instead receive 2 additional league points
- The Leaderboard is updated after every qualifying event; bonus points are assigned at the end of each month.
- The first tiebreaker for league standings is each player's total number of events attended that season. Further ties are broken by each player's total 3-0 records, followed by 2-0-1 records, and continuing down until the tie is broken.
Schedule & Qualifying Events
- All players who attend qualifying events are registered in the league.
- Weekly events listed on the Schedule page are eligible for league points.
- The league runs for 16 weeks, with a player's worst 2 weeks dropped from scoring.
-
The schedule may be adjusted at any time to account for holidays and store availability.
- Adjustments will be posted to the Schedule page.
- Pauper Qualifiers and Pauper Opens do not count towards league points.
- Each store is eligible to run one Pauper Qualifier per season.
Pauper Invitational
- The Pauper Invitational will be held shortly after the conclusion of a season.
- The Pauper Invitational will be a Swiss tournament, with a cut to Top 8.
-
Players receive one invitation to the Pauper Invitational by:
- Finishing in the top 16 of league standings, based on points.
- Finishing in the top 4 of the league standings, based on points.
- Winning a Pauper Qualifier.
- Finishing in the top 4 of a Pauper Open.
- Having the most points won at a single store.
- Having four 3-0 records in four consecutive weeks.
- The first invitation qualifies a player for the Pauper Invitational.
-
If a player has any additional invitations, they receive a first round bye during the Pauper Invitational.
Players can only receive one bye; any invitations after the second are discarded.
-
Invitations cannot be passed down, traded, or sold.
Example: Darval won a Pauper Qualifier and a Pauper Open, and is 16th in league standings. They cannot use their extra invitation to qualify the 17th ranked player for the Pauper Invitational.
